Random Act Of Kindness - School Holiday in Kedah

Assalamualaikum and Hello readers!

A small act of kindness can bring a huge amount of joy to ourselves and the people around us. Doing good to others will make us feel good as well!

One of the best trip during my holiday was in Alor Setar, Kedah. I went to stay in my grandparents' house.

This is my grandparent's house.

Even though there was no orchard but there was an exotic fruit tree behind the house.

Grandma said in Malay they called it "buah kaya" which means "rich fruit".
Perhaps I'll be rich after eating these fruits.. 😙
I pick the ripe fruits and bring back home so that every one can enjoy eating them together.

Out of my curiosity, I asked my grandmother whether I could help her to pick the "Setoi" fruits. So my grandmother taught me how to use a long pole or we called it 'galah' to pick the fruits. Soon, I learned how to use it well and pick a large amount of the fruits and bring back home for the other members of the family to eat. We enjoy the fruits together.

I'm a fast learner isn't it ? 😅
Have you tried this before?

Well, you should try using this "galah". But you need to be very careful while handling it.  Watch out! Make sure the fruits didn't drop on your forehead or your nose! 😅😂

This is "kekabu" tree or aslo known as "silk cotton" or it's Scientific name, Ceiba Pentandra..

People use it's fibre as stuffing in making the great bedding materials such as pillows, mattresses, upholstery and soft toys.
Sleeping on "kekabu" pillow or mattress is like enjoying a spa. It bends according to your body shape, and make you feel cool and therapeutic. Some people use "galah" to reach those pods that had cracked open. I helped my grandmother to collect the ripe "kekabu" pods which are already fell down on the ground.

These are the rubber trees. My grandparents used to be the rubber tappers and farmers before.

I volunteered helping my grandmother to boil the water.
Looks like I was more excited on exploring the firewood
😅

I helped my grandmother to grill the fish.

There are the paddy fields but you need to cross the wire fence to reach the paddy field.

This is the cottage or a small hut where my grandparents used to store the paddy or rice.

These are some fascinating views of my grandmother's place at Alor Setar, Kedah. These are how I celebrated others and people around me as an accomplishment. As a student, I don't have much money to buy them the expensive dinners, or bring them for a holiday trip. So, I chose to do a favor which I am capable to do, to make every one happy.

How about yours?
