My Achievement in Primary School - 1st Runner Up - PISF’17 RERO Robotics and Coding Challenge
Rero Robotic Coding Competition at Penang International Science Fair (PISF) 2017
What is Robotic?
Essentially, a robot is a mechanical device that can be programmed to follow a set of instructions. The robot has a processing unit, sensors to perceive its environment, and motors and actuators to move its limbs or wheels. It may speak, make other sounds, or flash with lights and colours in response to the environment as per instructions.
Robots need the ability to follow programmed instructions and not just be controlled remotely.
About The Competiton
For this category, teams are required to program their rero Jr robots
live on the spot to complete a coding challenge. The tasks will only be
revealed on the day of the event. Participants will be using rero
Planner, a flow-chart based graphical programming interface, to do the
programming. A free introductory workshop will be held for participating
teams who are new to rero robotics platform.
This game is open to primary school students aged 7 to 12 years old. Each team is made up of a maximum of 3 members.
Due to time constraint, the organizing committee limits the number of participating teams to 24 teams and only accept a maximum of 3 teams from the same school/institution.

OUR 1ST CODING ROBOTIC WORKSHOP
Building Team Players
As
participants are required to work in teams, this helps to inculcate the
spirit of teamwork and at the same time enhance your leadership and
communication skills.
2ND WORKSHOP BEFORE THE COMPETITION
THE REAL COMPETITION
Cultivating Self-Resilience
The
robot building process spurs participants to develop resilience and
perseverance as you troubleshoot technical problems, test and debug your
program, and continually work towards improving your robot designs.
